Iván Helguera Bujía is a Spanish football manager and former player, who played as a defender or midfielder. After his early experiences with Manchego and Albacete, in 1997/98 he was bought by Roma. He returned to Spain the following year with Espanyol before moving on to Real Madrid in 1999. He played for the Blancos for 8 seasons, winning 3 championships, 2 super cups, 2 Champions Leagues and 1 European Super Cup. In 2007 he moved to Valencia, where he won a Copa del Rey. With the Spanish national team he made his debut in 1998, racking up 47 appearances and scoring 3 goals.
