The Prize

Take home this blue and white Argentina national team home shirt, a replica of the version used in 1986 for the World Cup that was won by Argentina (their second title, after winning in 1978). Argentina was captained by the 25-year old Diego Maradona, who played a large part in his team's success. Maradona scored the "Hand of God" goal, as well as another voted "Goal of the Century", in the same quarter-final against England. These were two of the five goals that Maradona scored during the tournament, and he also created another five for his teammates. Argentina beat West Germany 3–2 in the final at Mexico City's Estadio Azteca.

This shirt is a piece of history, as it is signed by Maradona, Ruggeri, Burruchaga, Pasculli, Trobbiani, Brown, Olarticoechea, Garre, Enrique, Batista, Almiron, Islas, Bilardo, Tapia, Giutsi, Bochini, Passarella, Clausen, Valdano, and Borghi.

The majority of the signatures were obtained on 15 September 2011 at the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium in Cordoba, Argentina as part of the 25th Anniversary event held in conjunction with the Superclassico de las Americas. Alabaré believes that if we work together, we can achieve our vision of a society where everyone has the opportunity to live a fulfilling life. Alabaré supports rough sleepers, young parents and their babies, vulnerable women, adults with addictions, mental ill-health, and learning difficulties, young people leaving the care system, and Veterans. Each year Alabaré supports around 2,000 people by providing a safe home and support through 90 Homes and Services in the South West, South and throughout Wales.

Alabaré is the largest provider of homes for Veterans outside of London, with 23 homes in eleven areas in the South, South West, and Wales. Alabaré must raise £815,000 to support the vulnerable and homeless Veterans gain the skills, opportunities and confidence to live transformed lives outside of the military community.
