About Francis Bacon
Some of the most recognizable depictions of wounded and scarred humanity in post-war art were created by Francis Bacon. He developed a particular style by drawing inspiration from Surrealism, cinema, photography, and the Old Masters, and as a result became one of the most well-known practitioners of figurative painting in the 1940s and 1950s.
