Born in Milan on July 17, 1927, Ezio Leoni, also known under the pseudonym of Len Mercer, was an Italian composer, arranger and record producer.
Ezio Leoni composed music for important Italian songs such as 24 mila baci, Il tuo bacio è come un rock and Si è spento il sole. He is also credited with discovering and launching of the music careers of some of the most famous Italian singers, including Adriano Celentano, Fausto Leali and Tony Dallara.
He collaborated some important Italian artists over many years, including Luigi Tenco, Iva Zanicchi and Fausto Papetti. As Artists & Repertoire Director, he won the Sanremo Festival five times, three times with Iva Zanicchi (Non Pensare a Me, 1967; Zingara, 1969; Ciao Amore, Come stai?, 1974), once with Homo Sapiens (Bella da morte, 1977). ) and once with Mino Vergnaghi (Amare, 1979).
