Morlotti (1910 - 1992) was one of the leading figures in Italian and European late twentieth century art.
He created a special relationship between nature and painting, perhaps one of the most distant artists from the European avant-garde of the twentieth century and what it left behind for a whole century. He shaped paintings by sinking his hands in the chromatic clay of nature, knowingly transforming matter into emotion, feeding it with his own emotional experience.
