The Prize

This auction is for an incredible and rare limited edition pair of boxing gloves signed by Muhammad Ali.

One boxing glove has been hand painted by Steve Kaufman, the famous sports artist and former assistant to Andy Warhol. Kaufman hand painted the glove and then issued a silk screen image of Ali's face on the front of the glove. This glove has been signed by Muhammad Ali. The rear of the glove is numbered and has been signed by Steve Kaufman. This glove is number 6 of a limited edition of 250 and each glove is hand painted therefore, no two gloves are alike. The second glove features Ali's Olympic fight record.

Recently Muhammad Ali sadly passed away aged 74. He will be remembered as not just one of the best and most celebrated sports people of all time, but a cultural and political icon. Ali is the only three-time lineal world heavyweight champion. He fought some incredible fights and is nicknamed 'The Greatest'.

The Cause

The Mariana Opere nel Mondo Association began in February 2002 thanks to a few Venetian entrepreneurs convinced of the importance of returning the fortune they had received by helping those who have less.

The association obtained the Onlus title when it was created, and it is still a nonprofit, continuing in its path of helping people through acts of solidarity, assistance and charity.

The goal of this association is to rescue the populations around the world that suffer from hunger and underdevelopment—or who are in need of economic, moral and social support—and to give them hope for a life worth living.
