Beautiful and significanth historical work by the master Bernard Buffet.
Born in Paris on 10 July 1928, Bernard Buffet was a painter, lithographer and printmaker who studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and gained critical acclaim and fortune thanks with his prolific body of work - he painted more than 8,000 works over the course of his career - in an instantly recognizable personal style. Active at a time when abstraction was the predominant art style, Buffet defended representational art and was an active member of the anti-abstraction group L'homme Témoin (The Witness Man).
