"Images of a Garden" was painted by the Bangles in California, in 2016. The painting pays homage to "Images of a Woman", the only painting ever made by the Beatles that was painted 50 years earlier in 1966.
The Bangles are an American rock band that rose to fame in the 1980s. Their 1985 album Different Light, featuring the hits ‘If She Knew What She Wants', ‘Manic Monday' - penned by Prince, and the smash hit ‘Walk Like An Egyptian,’ saw the Bangles rocket to superstardom. ‘Walk Like An Egyptian’ was Billboard’s #1 for four weeks in a row – a feat no other all-female band had ever achieved.
When speaking about "Images of a Garden" the band said, “We found ourselves drawn to botanical shapes inspired by nature - that incessant California sunshine is probably to blame!”.
