Henri-Émile-Benoît Matisse (Le Cateau-Cambrésis, December 31, 1869 - Nice, November 3, 1954) was a French painter, engraver, illustrator and sculptor.
Matisse is one of the best known artists of the twentieth century, the most prominent figure of the artistic current of the Fauves.
