About Banksy

Banksy, perhaps the most well-known figure in contemporary street art, is known for urban interventions with irreverent wit and a biting political edge. To add to his mystique, the artist has altered street signs, illegally printed his own currency, and illegally sold his work.

His work can be found in the Louvre and the Museum of Modern Art. In his critiques of consumerism, political authority, terrorism, and the status of art and its display, he frequently employs spray paint and stencils. His street art, installations, and studio works have been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, London, Bethlehem, and other cities. His work has sparked widespread interest in the secondary market, fetching eight figures at auction.
