The Prize

The Desert Springs Resort, located in the Almanzora region of Almeria, south-east Spain, is Europe’s only international multi awardwinning family resort and championship desert golf course. The vivid contrast of the “desert springs” and the emerald green fairways with the arid landscape of cactus, rock and owering desert, is stunning at all times of year.

With over 600,000 cacti and other desert plants, the whole golfing vision is framed within a panorama of landmark mountain ranges. Ryder Cup Winning Captain, Ian Woosnam OBE says of the Indiana course: “The course is in immaculate condition with greens of equal quality to those we play our own tour events on.

The Cause

One in two people will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime. We have made it our mission to make a difference to the way that their treatment is delivered; giving the gift of time to patients so they can spend it wisely, with those that they love. Our Mobile Cancer Care Units help patients to fit their treatment in to their lives, not the other way round.

We bring our fleet of Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCUs) into the heart of communities, and by working closely with NHS Trusts throughout the country, we work together to help as many people as possible.

We don’t receive any government funding for our Units and instead we rely on the generosity of people like you to support us. The NHS provides the nurses, the drivers, vehicle insurance and the fuel for the MCCUs but we need your help to pay for the building and maintenance of the Mobile Cancer Care Units.
