Central African Republic, Obo, November 2019: Anne and Madò were kidnapped about three years ago by the Lord's Resistance Army. They were working in the fields. They met during their imprisonment and learned to trust each other. After about two and a half years of unspeakable torture and violence, they decided to try to escape. Now they live together with Obo, in a hut that Madò's aunt gave to them. Due to the extremely serious psychological traumas suffered during their kidnapping, they are not yet able to fully provide for themselves and live hand to mouth. They have not received any help. They both say that they would not have survived without mutual comfort and support.
