Take home this red Team España sweatshirt worn by Spanish middle distance runner Fermín Cacho Ruiz for the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics.
Olympic champion of the 1500-meter flat race in Barcelona 1992, Cacho once more returned to the top in 1996 at the Atlanta Olympic Games, winning the silver medal.
Despite being the reigning champion, Cacho was not considered a favorite to win the race, which was tipped to be a head-to-head between Morceli and Hicham El Guerrouj, who had taken the top two places in the previous world championships. At the start of the final lap, Morceli was ahead of El Guerrouj, when the Moroccan tripped and fell. Cacho had to go around him to avoid tripping but still managed to reach the finish line just 5 meters behind Morceli, placing second.
The auction winner will also receive the Reebok shoes worn by Fermín Cacho for his last professional race.
