原因

Perdere prematuramente un figlio, un parente, un amico di leucemia, lascia nel cuore un vuoto che appare subito incolmabile. La sensazione è che nulla al mondo possa consolare il grande dolore che soffoca il cuore di chi resta. E’ il trascorrere del tempo, però, che mostra la continuità della vita con il suo immenso valore per il quale vale sempre la pena di reagire ed impegnare al meglio le proprie risorse. E’ questa la forza propulsiva che nel 1993 ha dato vita all’Associazione Donatori Midollo Osseo e Ricerca “Davide Biondani”- Verona: Volontari fortemente motivati ad adoperarsi nella lotta contro le malattie oncoematologiche.

OBIETTIVI PRIORITARI dell’ Associazione sono:

Sensibilizzare e informare la popolazione, in particolare i giovani, sulla donazione di cellule staminali da Midollo Osseo, da Sangue Periferico e Cordone Ombelicale in modo da incrementare costantemente il numero degli iscritti, come potenziali donatori, al “Registro Nazionale Donatori Midollo Osseo” al fine di dare maggiori possibilità ai malati di leucemia e di altre malattie del sangue di trovare un donatore compatibile.
La Ricerca, in particolare nell’ambito delle cellule staminali emopoietiche.
