WINE-MAKING
The wine comes from an iconic vineyard in Montevegro, already critically acclaimed for its Amarone Mai Dire Mai. The grapes come from a single plot of 5.1 hectares, located in the most hidden part of the property, with a north-eastern exposure. More shady and cool, this portion of the vineyard is exposed to winds from the Lessini mountains. The grapes are harvested by hand with careful selection. After soft pressing, fermentation begins at a controlled temperature of 20-22°C, with maceration on the skins for about 20 days. At the end of the process, malolactic fermentation is started in steel. The final step is maturation for 16 months in 500-litre tonneaux and 225-litre barriques, both of new French oak.
WINE HARVEST 2020
Nose of small black fruits, with concentrated and taut notes; hints of medicinal herbs and undergrowth. On the palate, the fruit is ripe, complex and soft, with a slight smokiness and a long, fresh astringency.
