"Among the various works is a painting from the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool that was bought in London, after having been auctioned by Christie's. A classic example of Art Deco." Alviero Martini
Painting by Harry Morley.
Harry Morley (1881-1943) was a British painter, engraver and carver known for his classic and mythological compositions. Morley was considered an "artist's artist". His paintings display their dependence on the early Italian masters, not only due to the oil and tempera technique used but in the visual vocabulary adopted. The strong sense of monumental form and spatial clarity of the artist are a reflection of his initial training as an architect. Together with his use of clean lines, academic coldness and detachment, Morley's work clearly stands out from the narrative purpose and sentiment of the Pre-Raphaelites.

In 1987, his search for "something unique" led him a date with destiny . In Moscow he found a fascinating and faded old map. He glued it onto an old suitcase and thus he stumbled upon the idea to create an innovative line of baggage embellished with geographic maps. 1990 marks a successful year across the globe. Recognized as the creator of a new travel concept, he rapidly became well known as the 'traveling stylist'.
