Fossil Tooth of Otodus Shark from Morocco.

Take home this stunning Otodus Shark Fossil tooth set in a sandy rock.

Otodus obliquus is an extinct species of shark belonging to the genus Otodus. It lived between the Paleocene and the Eocene, between 40 and 60 million years ago. It was a large shark, widespread in various parts of the world. This shark measured more than 30 feet, and its diet included marine mammals, fish and other sharks; it was the strongest predator of its era.

The fossil remains that have been found include only the teeth and some vertebrae.

This tooth was found in the phosphate calcarenites of the Oued-zem region in Morocco and similar finds are generally found dissolved in the sandy sediment.
