Special memento from Ieuan Evans' personal collection.
Prop David Dai Young is the only man to have toured with the Lions in three separate decades.
The Welshman pulled on the famous red jersey 18 times in 1989, 1997 and 2001 and played in three Test matches on his first Tour.
With Sir Ian McGeechan as coach, the Lions headed down under in 1989 for the first time in 18 years. Young appeared in all three Tests as the Lions came from behind to secure a 2-1 Series victory.
The Welsh prop’s decision to cross codes to Rugby League saw him miss the 1993 Tour, but he was back to take his place in South Africa in 1997. He featured in six of the 10 matches against provincial sides.
Young was in the touring party to Australia again in 2001 where he featured in four warm-up matches, scoring two tries.
Young’s final appearance in the famous red jersey came with the honour of the captaincy in a 30-28 win over ACT Brumbies that was sandwiched by the first two Tests.
