This is not a reprint it's an original poster from 1986, in a very large print of: 28"x40" (70x100cm).
Designed for the 1986 "Crack Down on Crack" concert in New York City.
The concert was organized to raise money to help fight New York's crack cocaine epidemic by famed concert promoter and producer Bill Graham.
Bill revisited his old Bronx neighborhood in August 1986 and was dismayed to find that the drug culture had effectively wiped out the local culture.
Famous New York artist Keith Haring designed the poster "CRACK DOWN" for the benefit concert at Madison Square Garden on Halloween 1986.
The set list for the concert was Santana, Run DMC, The Allman Brothers Band, Mick Taylor, Felix Cavaliere, Ruben Blades, Paul Butterfield, Crosby, Stills and Nash, and Olatunji.
About the Artist
Known for his colourful works and his iconic motifs such as the radiant baby and the barking dog, Keith Haring was a popular artist and activist who was part of the legendary New York art scene during the 1980s.
