The Prize

Enjoy dinner for one in Milan with the Italian former canoer Antonio Rossi.

On the special day Antonio Rossi will give you the tracksuit that was part of the kit supplied for the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games, signed by the Italian athlete.

Born in Lecco on December 19, 1968, Antonio Rossi joined the Fiamme Gialle team in 1988.

He has competed in 5 editions of the Olympic Games (from Barcelona 1992 to Beijing 2008), winning 5 medals including 3 gold. He was the flag-bearer for Italy in Beijing 2008. During his career he has achieved 7 medals at the world championships, including 3 gold and 3 European medals, in addition to being Italian Overall Champion 55 times.

He became "Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic" on order of the President of the Republic and "Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic". Since 2005 he has been part of the CONI National Board. He currently holds the position of "Undersecretary for Major Sports Events" of the Lombardy Region.

The Cause

“WE RUN TOGETHER – Supporting our team” is a sports initiative supporting two hospitals that have been at the heart of the fight against Covid-19, the Papa Giovanni XXIII in Bergamo and the Fondazione Poliambulanza in Brescia. The funds raised from the auctions will go to the medical and nursing staff of these two hospitals that have tirelessly looked after Coronavirus patients in recent months.

This campaign has received the extraordinary support and blessing of Pope Francis who is actively involved in the initiative by donating some of his own personal highly valuable and prestigious sports items. Besides the Pope, many internationally renowned athletes, companies and sports clubs have joined the cause because we’re stronger together.

WE RUN TOGETHER is promoted and organized by four organizations that have always been committed to promoting the value of sport as a tool for inclusion, sharing, dialogue and peace. These organizations are:

Atheltica Vaticana, the first sports club in Vatican City
Sports group Fiamme Gialle (Guardia di Finanza)
“Cortile dei Gentili”, department of the Pontifical Council for Culture (VA) to promote dialogue between believers and non-believers
FIDAL-Lazio, Lazio region Athletic Federation.
