Alessandro D’Avenia will meet the winner for a coffee and a chat about books in Milan in spring 2022.

Alessandro D'Avenia is a much loved teacher and writer. He made his debut in 2010 with the novel White as Milk, Red as Blood, which has been translated into 26 languages and was turned into a film for the cinema in 2013. This book was followed by other best and long sellers such as Things that No One Knows, What Hell is Not, The Art of being Fragile, Every story is a Love Story and finally The Appeal starring Homer Romeo, a professor at a blind school, who understands pupils better than other teachers.
Alessandro teaches literature at a Milanese high school and writes a weekly column on the front page of Corriere della Sera, entitled Ultimo Banco, a space for reflection on schools, education and literature.
