Bottle of Groppello, 1964 - Frassine Riviera del Garda.
Vintage wine is not to be considered as a product to be tasted, but as an emotion to give that brings with it the memories of a past time.
It is first and foremost a collector's work, with high antiques value and only later, if you are lucky, a wine to taste.
Groppello, like all vintage wines in general, is subject to a multitude of variables that condition aging with the passing of time so as not to guarantee its drinkability, the only way to understand if it is still drinkable is to uncork it.
Content: 72 cl
Volume: 12%
In the Brescia shore of the Lake Garda the wine-producing tradition is deeply rooted in the history, culture and landscape of this area. The vineyards extend form the lake to the surrounding hills and harmonize the territory. There are many wine types which are produced from North to South, but all of them stand out for their uniqueness and quality. Like Classico Groppello della Valtenesi in the southern vineyards of Bardolino and Lugana. Currently there are three biotypes of Groppello in Valtènesi: Gentile, Mocasina and St. Stefano. The name Groppello was inspired by the characteristics of the grape of the vine that resembles, for its compactness, that of a pine cone. The word that in the local dialects of Lombardy and Veneto was said as “grop” or “gropo”.
Please note: Preserved professionally for over 50 years in a special cellar, this is a collector's bottle, therefore the quality of the wine cannot guaranteed.
