Bottle of Barbera d'Alba, 1966 - Cavo Valentino.

Vintage wine is not to be considered as a product to be tasted, but as an emotion to give that brings with it the memories of a past time.
It is first and foremost a collector's work, with high antiques value and only later, if you are lucky, a wine to taste.

All vintage wines are subject to a multitude of variables that condition aging with the passing of time so as not to guarantee drinkability, the only way to understand they are still drinkable is to uncork them.

Typical Piedmontese wine with a pure, deep ruby red color, sometimes lively if bottled young, pleasant in its rusticity.

With aging the wine tends towards garnet reflections, it goes well with grilled meats, roasts, braised meats, game and aged hard cheeses.

The origins of the Azienda Agricola del Cerabino "Cavo Valentino" date back to the early 1900s. Owned by the Cavo family from the very beginning, the current manager is the oenologist Marco Cavo, who, assisted by his family, is directly involved in the various stages of winemaking, from harvesting to bottling. Over the years, with the acquisition of new neighboring land, it has extended to 20 hectares.
