The Beastie Boys were an American hip-hop group composed of Michael "Mike D" Diamond, Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, and Adam "MCA" Yauch. They formed the group in 1981 and released their debut album "Licensed to Ill" in 1986, which was the first rap album to reach number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
They were known for their unique style that blended elements of hip-hop, punk rock, and funk music.
