Color offset lithograph on paper, produced in 2005. Banksy's Di-Faced Tenner with a portrait of Princess Diana reads “I promise to pay the bearer on demand the ultimate price”. About the artist
Banksy is the most sought after and most collected street artist. His works represent a safe investment destined to grow over time, adding value in addition to the intrinsic value of art. He made the concept of multiple pop art work even more interesting, becoming a point of reference on the art market with his posters and his items. Banksy is known for urban interventions that demonstrate irreverent wit and scathing political comment. While maintaining his anonymous identity, the artist has altered street signs, illegally printed his own currency and illegally hung his work in the Louvre and the Museum of Modern Art. He often uses spray paint and stencil in his critiques of consumerism, political authority, terrorism and the state of art and its exhibition. His street art, installations and studio-produced works have been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, London, Bethlehem and beyond. His art has been the subject of widespread interest on the secondary market.
