Banksy Barely Legal Los Angeles Show Card Flyer LA Print Lithograph 2006
Banksy "Elephant in the Room" lithograph print.
From his solo show "Barely Legal" in Los Angeles. Very rare item.
14x11cm.
This item is an authentic item and was purchased at Banksy's "Barely Legal" show in Los Angeles on the first day of the show.
On the first day of the show, the mini prints were on heavy card stock like this one.
The cards distributed at the opening of the Barely Legal exhibition said: An elephant in the room. And we never talk about it. The proverbial elephant was global poverty.
Banksy is the most sought after and most collected street artist. His works represent a safe investment destined to grow over time, adding value in addition to the intrinsic value of art. He made the concept of multiple pop art work even more interesting, becoming a point of reference on the art market with his posters and his items.
Banksy is known for urban interventions that demonstrate irreverent wit and scathing political comment. While maintaining his anonymous identity, the artist has altered street signs, illegally printed his own currency and illegally hung his work in the Louvre and the Museum of Modern Art. He often uses spray paint and stencil in his critiques of consumerism, political authority, terrorism and the state of art and its exhibition. His street art, installations and studio-produced works have been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, London, Bethlehem and beyond. His art has been the subject of widespread interest on the secondary market.
