Baltic Amber sample with fossils.
Take home this stunning piece of Baltic Sea amber with a double fossil of a prehistoric insect. Just like in the Jurassic Park movie, an insect that populated the planet thousands of years ago is embedded in this rare stone. Thanks to the fossilization process of the resin, the insect remained "captured" inside and today, just as thousands of years ago, it is possible to marvel at it intact and beautifully preserved.
Amber is a fossil resin first realeased by various species of conifers and subsequently fossilized with the passage of millennia. Given its original semi-fluid nature, it is not uncommon to come across some unusual and interesting inclusions within some crystallized and semi-transparent fragments. Its color varies from yellow to reddish, to green in some cases. It is an uncommon and precious raw material, sought after by jewelers and goldsmiths to turn into gems for pendants and earrings.
