The Cause

For over 40 years, AIL has been taking care of patients and their families in Italy and is doing everything to making blood diseases more curable.

Our mission is to promote and support scientific research in curing leukemia, lymphomas and myelomas, to assist patients and their families and to accompany them through the sometimes difficult phases of the disease with services adequate for their needs, to improve their quality of life, to increase awareness about the fight against blood diseases.

We finance scientific research and in particular GIMEMA (Gruppo Italiano Malattie Ematologiche dell’Adulto – Italian Group for Hematological diseases in adults), it’s a non-profit cooperative group made up of 140 Hematological centers in Italy. Its main goal is to identify and publish the best diagnostic and therapeutic standards for hematological diseases.

We collaborate and support the expenses for the Hematology and Stem Cell transplant Centers.

We organize home care assistance that helps patients, that can be taken care of in their home, avoid hospital visits.

We realize “Hospitality Homes” near the Hematology Centers host patients that have to spend long periods of time away from home.
