Have you always wondered what it might be like to be a journalist and work at London’s most iconic newspaper? Now's your chance to find out!

This the exclusive opportunity to undertake a weeks' work experience at The Evening Standard and Independent, where you will attend the ES morning conference, see what it's like to write for the Independent, and get personal media career guidance over lunch from the ES Chairman and The Mail on Sunday Editor, Geordie Greig.

If you or anyone you know is interested in journalism (or just seeing what really goes on behind closed doors!), this is an auction lot you simply mustn't miss!

The Cause

The Fayre of St James's auction is in aid of the Felix Project, helping it to tackle the twin problems of food waste and food poverty.

Each year the UK food industry throws away the equivalent of 650m meals, which could have been eaten by people in need. 2 million people in the UK cannot afford to eat regularly and 70,000 London children go to school hungry each day.

The Felix Project collects surplus food from 200 supermarkets, wholesalers and manufacturers and delivers it to over 200 front line charities and 40 primary schools in London each week.

Quintessentially Foundation is the award winning and grant-giving arm of Quintessentially Group, providing funding and building awareness for UK registered charities.

Through mindful entrepreneurialism, our aim is to improve the welfare of disadvantaged communities and individuals, facilitating change and allowing dreams to become a reality.
