The Prize
“Rocking Piranhas” - an original sculpture by Alastair Gibson. Chief Mechanic at Lucky Strike-Honda when Jenson Button won his first Grand Prix (in Hungary, 2006), Alastair has since made his name world-wide with his innovate, highly sought-after, F1-based sculptures. Using many re-cycled car parts from the F1 teams, Alistair’s works feature such materials as carbon and titanium. The fish in this sculpture are made in carbon and photo-etched stainless steel; the “rocker” is an actual rear rocker arm from Nico Hulkenberg’s Force India (Hungary, 2014); and the mounting is made from a plank used on Nico Rosberg’s 2016 championship-winning Mercedes F1W07 Hybrid.
