"Fior Di Loto" artwork by Gianni Borta.

The work is framed in a 75x75 cm format, picture 60 x 60 cm. It is an artist's proof from his own personal collection, signed lower right.

Technique: original 32-color silk-screen printing, printed in Urbino in 2005 in 50 copies.

Gianni Borta states: “I chose the lotus for its strong symbolism: this aquatic flower grows in the dark and in the mud moving to the clean surface to open its petals. It represents the promise of spiritual elevation and purity through adversity. For me painting must always convey a meaningful message and evoke nature as a representative of the most fundamental human emotions. "

Gianni Borta was born and lives in Udine and works between his hometown and Milan. He began to exhibit in 1961 inspired by the neorealism of the peasant world of Friuli. Today he is one of the most significant Italian artists of the middle generation with 860 exhibitions and 190 personal exhibitions held in major Italian and foreign cities with 250 national and international awards to his name. He is considered a leading figure of what is now known as naturalistic art.

His work is documented in the historical archive of the Venice Biennale and in the archive for Italian twentieth century art in Florence.

He is considered a leader in this field due to his intense artistic activity and the themes he adresses through his work.
