The Prize

Please note: This lot closed on our platform on November 27th, 2015 at 2:00pm EST but was part of a live auction on November 28th. For questions visit our help center.

This auction is for an original pencil drawing by Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dali, "Les Trois Graces" (The Three Graces), 1957. This work was a present from Dali to a friend, Captain Moore. Upon Moore's death the piece went to J. Foret, who was Dali's business secretary. Foret was fired for stealing money and then set up a museum with some of the artwork he owned, called the Pero Moore Museum in Cadac. The museum has since closed.

The work contains a Pero Moore stamp and a Certificate of Authenticity from Robert and Nicholas Descharnes.

Its dimensions are 79 x 98.5 cm.
