Joan Miro Maravillas painting 'Number 3'

This auction lot will be closed at the Football For Good Awards on 02 December 2015. Please read the Live Bidding Conditions below for more information.

This piece is titled Maravillas con Variaciones Acrosticas en el jardin de Miro (Number 3) (s.7511).

It is an original lithograph in colours created in 1975 from an edition of 1500 on Guarro paper, signed in the stone, part of a series of 22 by the legendary Spanish Artist born near Barcelona in 1893.

Miró began his studies at a business school, but soon turned to art, moving to Paris in 1921. In 1923 his work underwent a breakthrough period and his own symbolic-abstract language appeared. Considered to be one of the most important artists of his time, the poetic vision, drama and cheerfulness of Miró’s works also shows a fascination with the earliest primitive art of cave paintings. The popularity of Joan Miró’s work and demand for his prints has continued to grow in since his death in 1983.

Overall frame size: 98cm x 77cm
