The Prize

Indulge in this Harrods Hamper, a suitably sweet celebration of Britain’s best-loved bear.

Behind every Harrods bear lies a special story, but none could have predicted the remarkable tale of a honey-coloured teddy bought from the toy department 100 years ago. Gifted to a certain Christopher Robin – son of author A. A. Milne – the cuddly character went on to become Winnie-The-Pooh, whose trials and tribulations have entertained generations of children ever since.

To make the occasion, Once There Was a Bear – a book of exciting adventures from across the historic store and beyond – is joined by a Harrods 2021 bauble, hot chocolate, a musical tin of gingerbread biscuits and, naturally, a jar of honey, but It’s surely the teddy who takes centre stage. Edward bear is handcrafted in England using the same traditional skills and materials as Christopher Robin’s original, beloved best friend.
