The Prize
This bracelet is handmade in bronze and comes from the island of West Timor in Indonesia.
It portrays two roosters and a cotton bud that rings like a bell. Ever since ancient times, it was worn during ceremonial dances for fruitful harvests.
In Southeast Asian animist belief, rooster battles are popular forms of fertility adoration.
In various myths, the rooster has the power to bring the dead back to life and make wishes come true. Within the spiritual pantheon, it is considered a sacred figure.
