Communities In Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA) is an affiliate of the nation’s largest organization dedicated to empowering at-risk students to stay in school and on a path to a brighter future.
 
Its mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
 
In response to Covid-19, LAUSD Schools are closed, but Communities In Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA)  is not. It provides one-on-one case management for nearly 1,000 at-risk LAUSD students and their families.  During the COVID-19 crisis, conducting regular check-ins, sharing information and resources and providing basic needs is the priority.
 
Uninterrupted summer case management services will help CISLA continue to:

• Provide social-emotional support for CISLA students and families
• Connect students and families to resources addressing basic needs
• Ensure students are attending and progressing in summer courses
