I am pleased to announce that I’ll be meeting two of you at my concert that will take place on September 8 at the Arena di Verona, Italy.
Would you like to be my guests at this event? Then you can be. And you'll be supporting a cause that I'm working on with Sara Doris, too - one that is very dear to my heart.
Andrea Bocelli Foundation and Fondazione Mediolanum Onlus have set themselves the ambitious challenge of building a school in Muccia, in the Macerata province, an area seriously affected by the earthquake that hit in October 2016.
95% of the municipality’s buildings were destroyed in that terrible disaster and today residents are still living in temporary housing provided by the Italian Red Cross. We want to lend a hand and, in particular, we want to help the children to get back to their everyday lives.
By making a small donation on this website, you and a friend will be in with a chance of attending pre-concert drinks, seeing my concert from VIP seats and meeting me in person.
In addition, you will have the chance to buy some of my exclusive memorabilia, carefully selected with my fans in mind.
With your precious contribution and the help of Sara, we’ll make dreams become a reality.
On August 24 2016 a 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit Central Italy, affecting the regions of Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche and Umbria. Thousands were affected. 299 people lost their lives and many others were seriously injured, and there was large-scale damage across the territory.
In October of that same year new violent earthquakes shook Central Italy - in particular the Umbria/Marche border - once again. On October 30 the tremor registered 6.5 on the Richter scale – the strongest Italy has seen in the last thirty years.
Fondazione Mediolanum Onlus joined forces with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation in 2017 to rebuild the G. Leopardi secondary school in Sarnano, in the Marche region.
This new initiative aims to rebuild the pre-school and elementary school in Muccia in order to continue the Foundation’s commitment to those affected by the earthquake, particularly young people, in accordance with the mission of Fondazione Mediolanum Onlus.
The building will be a school complex that includes both a pre-school and an elementary school in Muccia, in the province of Macerata, where pupils have been attending school in temporary buildings since October 2016. Ensuring that parents have a safe and suitable place to send their children to learn and grow means giving these families a chance to stay in their hometown. Building work will start at the end of September and should take 150 days to complete. As well as opening its doors to 80 pupils, the complex will also be a center that is open to the community.
