The shirt was created to mark Pablito's passing on 9 December 2020 and was presented by Fiorentina captain Germán Pezzella before the starting whistle of the match against Atalanta BC played on the 11th matchday of Serie A TIM 2020/21.
Paolo Rossi was an Italian footballer, who played as a striker. 1982 world champion and top scorer of the competition, he won the Ballon d'Or in the same year. He occupies 42nd place in the special ranking of the best footballers of the 20th century published by World Soccer magazine. In 2016 he was inducted into the Italian football Hall of Fame and since 2021 he has been part of the Walk of Fame of Italian sport.
The shirt has been signed by a large part of the Fiorentina squad, including Franck Ribéry, Nikola Milenković, Dušan Vlahović, Martín Cáceres, Cristiano Biraghi, Tòfol Montiel, Germán Pezzella, Quarta, coach Cesare Prandelli and many others. The writing "13-12-2020 Atalanta-Fiorentina" was also added by Giancarlo Antognoni, who in turn signed the shirt.
