This auction is for an original press photograph from the second fight between Muhammad Ali and Henry Cooper. The image shows Henry Cooper forcing Ali back against the ropes. The image was used by the Daily Mirror and the Sunday Mirror on May 23rd 1966.
Condition: Fair - vertical crease & slight scratch
Dimensions: 10" x 8 1/2"
This was the second encounter between Ali and Henry Cooper and took place in London. Cooper put up a typically determined performance but an eye injury forced the referee to stop the contest in the 6th round.
Recently Muhammad Ali sadly passed away aged 74. He will be remembered as not just one of the best and most celebrated sports people of all time, but a cultural and political icon. Ali is the only three-time lineal world heavyweight champion. He fought some incredible fights and is nicknamed 'The Greatest'.
