Enjoy this unique experience at the Il Melograno, an elegant Italian boutique hotel and spa, in a 17th-century farmhouse just outside Monopoli, Apulia.

This lovely, 5-star luxury country house is nestled between the olive tree-lined green hills of the Apulian countryside and the blue Adriatic sea.

Once a fortified farmhouse, Il Melograno emerges among the colors and perfumes of a large flowering garden in extraordinary harmony with the surrounding territory, rich in history and artistical interest. Its architectural style is typical of the Apulian countryside: a robust, simple, traditional structure built out of stone walls painted with white lime or cocciopesto (lime mortar with crushed pottery). It is surrounded by a luxuriant 5-hectare park of majestic centuries-old olive trees, interspersed with bougainvillea and citrus orchards.

The stay will be organized within 6 months of the close of the auction, on the basis of the winner's and the Il Melograno farmhouse's availability.

The Cause

The art4sport nonprofit is an Italian organization that believes in sports as therapy for both physical and psychological recovery for children and young people with artificial limbs and prostheses.

Its mission is to economically aid the families of children with prostheses and provide practical/organizational support so the children can play and have fun through sports in their everyday lives.

The art4sport association is inspired by the story of Bebe - Beatrice Vio, who at the age of 11, sadly lost all four of her limbs. Despite this, she returned to her former life within a year, motivated by the desire to practice fencing. Bebe’s family thus looked into sports prostheses and sports equipment for children with this type of disability and found a disconcerting lack of support from the Italian National Health Care System.

Out of this shortcoming came art4sport, an association that could act as a point of reference for her and other children with the same problems and the same wish to play sports.
