A Day Out on the Contessa 32 "Aigle d'Or" for 2 People with Qualified Yachtmaster

This auction lot will be closed at the live Purple Bee Ball charity auction on Friday 9 October 2015. Please read the Live Bidding Conditions below for more information.

The Contessa 32 is a classic 'cruiser-racer' with a tremendous pedigree. First seen at the Boat Show in 1970, over 750 have since been built and they are still being made! Their reputation for seaworthiness is second to none and yet they are still a most beautiful boat to look at. They are now sailed all over the world and there is an active 'one-design' racing fleet in the Solent that still commands the noon start at Cowes Week each year. These fabulous yachts have circumnavigated the world including some famous voyages around Cape Horn and to the highest latitudes.

The auction winner and their guest can have some tuition to brush up on their sailing skills, or an informal lesson in boat handling, navigation or sail trim. Or they can sit in the stern with a beer and enjoy the fabulous sensation of Aigle d'Or heeling with her shoulder to the waves without lifting a finger. The Skipper, Rupert Sugden, is an experienced qualified yachtmaster who has sailed from childhood and has owned an Aigle d'Or for 13 years. He sails her singlehanded or crewed.

The experience will take place at Chatham Maritime Marina in Kent.

Included in the auction:
- Space for two people on the boat
- Tuition
- A light lunch and beverages
- Oilskins and life-jackets

This auction lot has been donated to support Fiorina - Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund
