VERTICAL - Fondazione Italiana per la Cura della Paralisi ONLUS

Fondazione VERTICAL is a charity founded to raise funds for scientific research, especially related to spinal injuries and the cure to the resulting paralysis. In most cases, a spinal injury is caused by injuries resulting from car accidents, motorcycling or sports injuries, and it might cause, depending on the degree of injury, the paralysis of the lower or the upper limbs, as well as the loss of respiratory, bladder and intestinal tract functions, with severe repercussions on the autonomy of the affected person, resulting in disadvantages in the family and social sphere. In Italy, just as in the rest of the world, paralysis is becoming more common, with currently 80,000 paraplegic cases and 5 new victims per day. The injuries are more common for young people between 17 and 30 years old. VERTICAL wants to raise funds to donate to the best scientific researchers in Italy.
