Un Tesoro di Cane

UN TESORO DI CANE ODV sprung from Ambra and Giulia's desire to make a difference.

Over the years the team has grown along with the activities. Today it is a small association with a big heart operating in Italy where some areas have high numbers of stray dogs living in extreme and often cruel environments. Today it is working for approximately ONE THOUSAND dogs in need of a home.

Since 2016 the association has been working with "RESCUE LAGOTTO ROMAGNOLO" on the project "UN TESORO DI LAGOTTO" (an adorable lagotto dog) that aims to defend the truffle dog that is all too often seriously exploited and ill-treated. This project provides for the rescue, well-being, behavioral aspects, stabilization and fostering of doggies to suitable families. Some of the dogs' conditions are often hopeless but #obiettivodivano (aim for the sofa) is the main objective.

Over the years the association has succeeded in rescuing and rehoming hundreds of dogs. Saving a dog from the streets, treatment and recovery for the first month costs about € 400 up to dog's rehoming. Adoptions are closely monitored with dogs being treated like members of the family. In 2017 250 dogs were rehomed and have now found their happy ending. Many other dogs are provided for by the association in order to ensure their recovery and improve their adoptability. Every week dogs near and far are helped because every one of them deserves a happy tail.
