Surf4Children Onlus

Surf4Children is an ONP founded by a group of doctors who decided to combine their profession with their love for the sea and sports in general.

These professionals propose promoting and involving children in the practice of sports, with a particular eye towards surfing, convinced that this is a fundamental step to their right to feel well—a right to be enjoyed not only by children with special needs, but also their families.

The various Surf4Children projects have provided for the creation of a psychomotor rehabilitation program based on surfing for children with special needs (Down syndrome, autism, premature birth, psychomotor impairment, etc.), with internationally-recognized instructors and the constant support of volunteer medical personnel. In addition, this organization proposes, before all others, to start collaborative volunteer health projects in underdeveloped countries with the possibility to practice surfing. They have already started working with Bureh, a girl from Sierra Leone already known for her surfing talent, but she is in need of a primary/secondary health center in order to pursue this fantastic sport.
