Afghanistan Emergency - The Project

The Pangea Onlus Foundation has been operating in Kabul since 2003. Afghanistan is more than just a project, it is a family. Pangea pays great attention to the welfare of its female staff and knows all of the beneficiaries of funds and their children by name. Over the course of eighteen years, Pangea has involved more than 7.000 women in programs in Afghanistan. These women have been made aware of their rights and have achieved social and economic independence.

Pangea's programs have reached over 7.000 families and over 60.000 girls and boys. Since August 2021, the situation in Afghanistan has changed and the Taliban taken power, bringing serious economic and social instability to the country. The Pangea project in Kabul represents a problem for the Taliban, going against their positions and beliefs. This project doesn't regard healthcare that would be of use also to them and it's not simply a support organization. This is a project of vital importance for the women and children of Kabul.

A number of great artists including Milo Manara, Paolo Bacilieri, Tanino Liberatore, Maria Nives Manara, Giorgio Cavazzano and Matteo Bussola have joined forces to support the Pangea "Afghanistan Emergency" project. History Life Onlus was responsible for the organization of the project that takes the name "Free Art for Pangea".
