Fondazione Luciana Matalon

The Foundation is located in the historical center of Milan, only a few hundred meters away from the Duomo and next to the Castello Sforzesco. It was founded in 2000 by artist Luciana Matalon with the aim of creating not only an exhibition space but also an international “crossroad” of new ideas and an occasion for visual, emotive and intellectual enrichment.

The 500 mtwo levels areas were designed by Luciana Matalon: its modern lighting and safety plant make it suited to any exhibition demand.

The Foundation also hosts and promotes exhibitions, meetings, conferences and cultural exchanges, with special attention to the Asian classic and new trends in arts (Japan, China and Korea).

The area dedicated to Matalon’s artworks guarantees a space-time continuity for Luciana Matalon’s rich artistic production: she is a painter, sculptress and jewel designer. In particular the 130 martist’s pictorial intervention on the floor surprises first time visitors: it follows her “path” started in 1968, with a collage of newspaper and magazine clips, testifying to Matalon’s prolific work. It’s followed by a long, painted “staircase-ferry boat” which leads to an “astral city” illuminated by stars, realized with optical fibers.
