Comitato Pro Riapertura Cinema all'aperto Cavo

"I got a crab too!" is a popular initiative born out of the desire of residents and holidaymakers on Elba Island in Italy to renovate the Cavo outdoor cinema.

This project seeks to reopen this iconic place that had once been the main gathering place in the heart of the village. The combination of the development of digital films and the passage of time led to the decay of this cinema, even though it is located in the village center, right next to the sports field and the church.

A dedicated nonprofit "Committee for the Reopening of the Cavo Outdoor Cinema (Elba)" has been set up (CF: 91016640491), to handle fundraising and promote initiatives.

Cracking Art is a group of Italian artists who create art installations related to the regeneration of places all over the world with the aim of bringing attention to a specific project or place through playful reinventions of all types of colorful animals. Cracking Art immediately joined this cause by making 500 specimens of special fuchsia crabs, a symbol of all those who want to contribute to this initiative. The crabs were given to those who wanted to support the project with a donation. Of the initial 500 crabs, there are only two special crabs left, signed by the swimming champion Gregorio Paltrinieri and the chef Simone Rugiati.
