Women For Women against violence

The most obvious form of violence to affect women is certainly one that leaves visible marks on the body. There are also other forms of abuse that are  psychological, resulting in social issues, as well as psycho-physical.

In Italy over one hundred women are killed by men every year, almost always men who claim to love their victims. The country counts 7 million female victims of violence: 746 thousand have suffered an attempted rape and 1 in 3 women has been the victim of some type of abuse.
For a woman violence is not only the threat of death but can also be damage to her self-image, her femininity, her sexuality and her role as a mother.
The Umanitas Consortium Association is the promoter and organizer of "Women for Women against violence - Chamomile Award", a unique and extraordinary event designed by women for women to combat the violence that sees them become victims, leaving marks on both the soul and the body.

Proceeds from the auctioning of this artwork will be donated by the Umanitas Consortium Association to support the "Rescue Suitcase" project created by the Salvamamme association to respond to the needs of many women who are attempting to escape violent situations, providing wa complete action plan to keep them safe in the early days of their leaving home or at highly critical times. The project is sponsored by the Ministry of Justice and has been launched in collaboration with the State Police; it has two operational protocols agreements with the Rome Police Headquarters and the Fiamme Oro Rugby Sports Group of the State Police.
