About

Charity Ligamina is a USA based non-profit organization that works across culture, education and social inclusion. We collaborate with teachers, artists and the local communities to bring about change. Ligamina deals with the safeguard and the promotion of the artistic and cultural heritage through restoration, research and awareness. The main target is to preserve cultural wealth for future generations, promoting a dialogue between art, history and communities.

To us, the preservation of the artistic and cultural heritage and its restauration serves as an effective tool for social sustainability, territorial enhancement and cohesion, and inclusion of vulnerable contexts.

Links that restore culture, people and territories

Ligamina is committed to promoting social inclusion, engagement and social bond by supporting vulnerable groups, recovering collective memories and reviving localities' souls. A mission we have committed for more than 10 years.

For us, culture should be not a privilege, but a universal right. A common language able to connect generations, communities and different stories.

This project wants to bring back to light the beauty of Rome's forgotten areas, create educational opportunities for young students and their families, strengthen sense of belonging and community and make culture a tool for social inclusion and sustainability.

Choosing to support Ligamina means believing in a more righteous Rome, vibrant and cohesive. It means trusting that culture can change people's lives and that every link that we build today can become a seed of hope for the future.

One of this year’s main activities will be dedicated to our special project, created in collaboration with an elementary school located in the outskirts of Rome, an area where cultural and educational opportunities are restricted and where children grow up in a more fragile context than the ones that grow up in the city center.

We want to bring curiosity, knowledge and wonder through an educational program dedicated to learning about water, not only as a natural resource, but also as a Rome’s symbol, because Rome was built around fountains and aqueducts.

With your support we’ll do:

• Educational projects with schools;
• Roman’s territories and community’s enhancement projects;
• Active engagement of local students and artists in the creation of artworks and exhibitions;
• Assignment of 20th century small authentic paintings (anonymous pieces, but rich in history)
as a symbolic reward for supporters.

Why 20th century artwork?

Ligamina has received a donation of small anonymous paintings from the 20th century, each one is an authentic piece of European history. We want to give new life to these pieces, giving them back to the community, and using them to fund their future. Each piece is a work of art and you can own one.

Every painting will be certified, packed and sent worldwide
