Lewis Hamilton's 2008 McLaren Mercedes Formula One Sparco Overalls
Take home these official McLaren Mercedes Sparco Formula One overalls from the 2008 F1 season. The overalls were used by McLaren and its drivers and partners for promotional activities. This particular pair was presented to a competition winner by McLaren sponsor Johnnie Walker.
These overalls are made to the same specification as Lewis Hamilton's race suit, except they do not have all the inner fireproof layers. This type is often used by the drivers for press conferences and public appearances as they are thinner and cooler under studio lighting. These overalls were never available to the public for purchase but made strictly for team use only.
The overalls are framed and ready to be hung on the wall. The display frame measures 90 x 60 cm and is 5 cm deep. The clear perspex front to the frame was removed in these pictures to allow clearer photos.
A rare opportunity to own a beautiful display piece from an iconic world-championship-winning driver in his first world championship year.
With a history spanning over a century, UK Youth is a leading national charity committed to ensuring all young people are empowered to build bright futures regardless of their background or circumstances. They sit at the heart of a national network of youth organisations to support young people across the UK who are in need of advice and training to equip them with vital life skills.
Most of the young people they support face a range of challenges. Over half of the young people on their programmes are from deprived areas of the UK and three in four face personal barriers including low income family constraints, not being in education, employment or training (NEET), having special educational needs, being a young carer, and having mental health challenges. In 2017, almost 100,000 young people directly benefited from their work.
